Home remodelling nj can be the right decision to make before you retire. Adding age-specific fixtures and enhancements to your kitchen, rooms and bathrooms may be necessary if you are planning to spend your entire life in that home.

Planning to socialize? A stale feeling home can be a hindrance in your social life. Revamping your home can be just the boost you need. Remodelling can give your home the facelift it needs.

Myths and common perceptions associated with remodeling is the reason most people do not want to invest home remodelling nj and end up making wrong decisions. However, this can be a problem in the long-run, things get old and outdated with time and taking preventative measures to keep your home up to date and functional can be more effective than doing it when there is no other option left.

It is obvious that remodeling is not an easy job and is time-consuming, but the right investment now can prevent you from a larger loss in the future.

Remodelling is needed at some point in time for your home. It is best to understand that some myths are just myths and there is no reality in them. Here are a few examples that will help you get in the right mindset for a remodel.

Myth: Low-Cost Bids are better

Contractors that use similar materials and have the same level of experience will charge similar prices. It is best to hire a contractor that understands your needs even if the prices are higher. Hiring low-cost contractors can actually be more expensive as you will have to pay extra to get the mistakes fixed later or may have to totally get new installations.

Myth: You can remodel the house yourself

Unless you are a professional construction contractor you cannot do it yourself. There may be certain low-risk projects that you have been successful at completing, however; fully remodeling your house is another ball game. You need to hire professionals as they have the right knowledge of materials, decors and the estimated budget for the project. If you start the project on your own, you will find that in most instances you will have to call in a professional, this will actually be way more costly than hiring a contractor.

Myth: All remodels increase value

This is a very common assumption, but it may not be true in most cases. If you are remodelling your home in NJ to meet your specifications and adding features that may otherwise be not so useful for the next owner or potential owners, then that could be a problem later on when you plan to sell it. If your installations are not the norm in that specific area it won’t add value to your house and you may not be able to justify the high price with the real estate agent or customers.

Myth: Must follow latest designs

The designs you choose to incorporate should depend on the need for remodelling without overdoing it. You might want to remodel your house for functional purposes or adding features to be useful during retirement. An aesthetically pleasing and updated house is always good, but do not go overboard just to follow trends.

Myth: Remodelling takes more time than estimated

The right selection of a contractor, good planning, and time management will get the work done on time. The best way to ensure you do not waste any time redoing or adjusting things is to be a part of the planning phase. Set the direction for your NJ contractor and be sure about what you want so that you he can come up with a realistic time of completion.

Home Remodelling in NJ is necessary as all house installations do not have a lifetime guarantee. Do your research and invest in the right place. Myths are just perceptions that won’t be true for your case.

Kitchen Remodeling Trends You Should Know About

Kitchen Remodeling Trends You Should Know About

At this point in the 21st century, the roles of many things have changed from what they used to be. A phone is used for more than calling people, clothes don’t just keep us warm and kitchens aren’t stuffy rooms where dishes are washed. The role of a kitchen has undergone continuous change as people realize that it brings people together through food. Remodeling your kitchen is not an easy task, even with the help of a professional. You have to choose practical designs that look stylish and get the job done. However, it’s recommended not to go for anything too current and opt for something that will last instead. Kitchen remodeling is a must in 2018 as demand in smart Real Estate values goes up!

White and Gray, Here To Stay

When remodeling your kitchen, there’s not a lot of options when it comes to the color palette. So in times of confusion, it’s best to stick to the basics, you can never go wrong with those. The popularity of white kitchens continues to soar and a large population of homeowners agrees on white as their preferred color for a kitchen. However, gray is the shift towards a more ‘colorful’ palette if you want to add some color to your kitchen, but not too much. Never a worry when you consider Kitchen Remodeling With Imperial Kitchen & Bath

Increase Storage And Accessibility

When remodeling your kitchen, there’s not a lot of options when it comes to the color palette. So in times of confusion, it’s best to stick to the basics, you can never go wrong with those. The popularity of white kitchens continues to soar and a large population of homeowners agrees on white as their preferred color for a kitchen. However, gray is the shift towards a more ‘colorful’ palette if you want to add some color to your kitchen, but not too much. Kitchen Remodeling at its finest in the years to come!

Increase Storage And Accessibility

It’s not only the colors you want to change when you’re remodeling a kitchen since it’s important to have a change in hardware. Sure, your grandmother’s kitchen is nice, but it has enough storage space to keep a toaster. With new appliances coming out every day, we need to make more space in the same kitchen. Manufacturers are reducing the space issue with new styles of drawers with smart tier designs and cabinets with foldable doors. Making appliances accessible is the new trend leaning towards practicality. Gone are the days when the microwave was placed above the range with new designs to keep your microwave at counter height.

New Hues for Old Sinks

The journey of adding color diversity to your all-white kitchen has to start somewhere. If you want to go further than painting your cabinets gray, then look no further than your sink. Getting a colored sink will add a stain of color and make it the prime focus of your white kitchen. The apron-front sink may be old, but it’s still practical. Not stylish enough for you? Get a splash of color as I mentioned before. Its addition is sure to give your kitchen a timeless aesthetic.

Quartz in The Mix

Quartz has surpassed granite by becoming the showstopper when it comes to countertops. The material is strong, long-lasting and requires close to no maintenance when compared to granite. Technological advancements now allow for different variations in colors when it comes to installing quartz countertops. On the other hand, you can take a more forward approach by customizing a mixed medium countertop using wood as well. The mix medium method allows different mediums on different sides of the countertops.

LED Lighting

LED lighting is taking the world by storm because of its efficiency and low energy consumption. They’re being used to illuminate all the right spots. Opt for LED rope lights to install them where you need the highlighting effect. Drawers and cabinet spaces are the perfect places to start. While you’re at it, changing your light fixtures would be a good idea. Adding bold statement fixtures induce a dramatic effect in your neutral-toned kitchen. Hanging the statement piece for your kitchen from the ceiling is a practical idea when you have minimal space.

Go Smart

A futuristic kitchen with automated features is here and no more a fantasy out of a sci-fi movie. Automated alternatives to your conventional faucets and lights will add a smart change to your lifestyle. Lights that are sensor-activated help reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Curb your water consumption by installing a hands-free faucet to wash your sticky hands without turning the handle first.

Allocated Refrigeration

If you’re aiming to become the next Masterchef, wasting time going to that bulky fridge won’t get you anywhere. Improve your odds by installing refrigeration where you need it and not reducing it to the one-door unit in the corner. Have your fridge at counter height to keep your produce in with coolers for beverages right next to it.

[2017] How-To For Bathroom Remodeling Added Value $$$

How Remodeling Your Bathroom Can Add Value to Your Home

Making improvements to your bathroom is essential and should never be thought of as an extra cost. Any changes you make when you remodel your bathroom can lead to amazing benefits. A large amount of time is spent in the bathroom, and no matter how private the business is, it’s important to be comfortable while you’re in there. There are some compelling reasons as to why you should opt for remodeling your bathroom.

Increases Value, Literally

The one thing that almost all homebuyers look for when inspecting a house is a remodeled bathroom. So it’s best to ensure that it has the aspects of one before you decide on selling it. By remodeling your bathroom, you update all the old features and increase the overall value of the house. A remodeled bathroom is also aesthetically pleasing to show to prospective buyers as well since it leaves a positive impact that the remaining house is in good condition as well.

Save Energy

Adapting to technological advancements and remodeling your bathroom can be a profitable investment if you do it right. Save on your utility bills in the future by installing energy efficient fixtures and baths. The change doesn’t have to be on a ‘go green’ scale, and you can start off by changing your old showerheads and leaky faucets. Move past conventional light bulbs and switch to efficient LED lighting to use less energy.

Improve Appearance

It’s a good idea to remodel your bathroom to make it look more appealing and even match it with the rest of the house. Bathrooms are usually left out since most people instead decide on remodeling bedrooms or kitchens instead. Beautiful tiles and stylish fixtures are sure to have a soothing effect on you when walking into your bathroom in the morning. It’ll even make it a sight for sore eyes when you come back from work, exhausted. After all, don’t we all want our bathrooms to look like the embodiment of luxury?

Suit Your Needs

If you’re a parent then you’ll understand how the bathroom is the only place you get to be alone. Solace shouldn’t be a luxury, but you can make it luxurious. Not having to use a cold toilet seat is considered as a luxury too, if you’re thinking. If that’s not enough, then think bigger and get a Jacuzzi to enjoy a spa treatment in the comfort of your own home.

An addition of a small screen will surely improve the Jacuzzi experience, and you’ll never miss your favorite variety show again. At other times the need for remodeling is to suit the personal needs of our loved ones. This is in cases where there are young, elderly or disabled people living at home. Even if there aren’t, remodeling your bathroom to make for a safer experience is a good idea. It improves overall home safety while reducing the chances of a slip-and-fall related accident.

Increased Space

An added benefit of remodeling your bathroom is the increase in space. Clever bathroom remodeling trends allow you to retain the most space out of your bathroom. This is especially useful for people that live in apartments with small bathrooms. Small bathrooms make for an uncomfortable experience in which you’re touching one bathroom appliance while using another. No matter if you think of bathroom space as a need or luxury, no one should have to compromise on it. Try switching your old appliances and fixtures for smarter and smaller ones to save space.

Increased Storage

Increase storage space in your bathroom by adding cabinets to keep your bulk. This space can be used to keep the all your toiletries and towels. Move the stash of toilet paper out of the garage and into the bathroom because no one wants to face the trouble of running out of toilet paper. The same goes for all your cleaning detergents. By adding an extra cabinet for your cleaning detergents, you can keep them at hand in the bathroom. This saves the time taken for getting them out of the garage and allows you to clean your bathroom more often.

[2017] Why You Should Hire A Professional for Bathroom Remodeling?

Why You Should Hire a Pro for Bathroom Remodeling NJ

It may not look like it, but the bathroom is the most complex room in your whole house. This is due to the number of pipes, fittings, cabinets and even sockets have to be installed in a small space. Hence, smaller bathrooms are much harder to renovate than bigger ones. Unfortunately, small bathrooms are usually unavoidable if you’re living on a budget in NJ. Therefore, be careful not to make mistakes when it comes to renovating your bathroom. Although DIY has become quite trendy, doing everything yourself to renovate or remodel your bathroom could lead to a disastrous outcome. It’s no surprise that hiring a professional to do it will cost more, but there are definitely some compelling reasons to do so.

• Saves Time

If you have a job and/or are a parent, a DIY will take months to finish whereas letting an untrained person do it unsupervised will make you nervous. Hiring trained experts to do a remodeling job for your bathroom will save much more time. This is because you don’t have to go through the dread of getting the job done little by little over a period of months. Other time-consuming tasks that you would rather avoid tackling include making the proper decision with regard to choosing materials, etc. This can be avoided by hiring professionals to help you out by giving you reasons as to why you should make a particular selection.

• Saves Money

Take some time out to consider the expenses of getting your bathroom remodeled. Whether you want to do it by yourself or hire someone. Doing it yourself would require buying a lot of tools and equipment that you would not need otherwise. You might end up paying a hefty price just for supplies. Hiring someone from an unreliable source would have risks of the person being untrained and can result in you having to pay often for maintenance.
However, hiring a team of experts can allow you to make a good investment, saving money in the long run. Their extensive network allows them to get cheaper supplies, which help in reducing the overall cost of the project. Their experience and expertise in the field can also prevent you from making bad choices like buying unnecessary items that would be thrown out in a matter of months. They can suggest the most budget-friendly remodeling plan while keeping your specific requirements in mind. This allows you to prepare your budget beforehand while no extra costs are added without being discussed first.

• Looks Better

Not to offend anyone, but anyone can draw clear distinctions between the works of a layman and professional. Your decision to do it yourself is not a bad one, but it all comes down to whether you think it’ll turn out the way you want it to. We all want stylish bathrooms that exude vibes of luxury, but you’re less likely to achieve that with a smaller bathroom. Even less if it’s not done by professionals because their specialized team can use limited space effectively to give the best results possible. Leaky faucets and creaky cabinets are all signs of a layman’s job that would cost extra in maintenance. All this can be avoided by contacting a professional for your remodeling needs.

• Highly Specialized

All bathrooms, big and small, are prioritized equally by assigning specialists to do specific tasks. The plumbers handle the complicated task of connecting your new bath fittings to water supply pipes. Professional electricians are highly essential for bathroom remodeling since smaller bathrooms are at greater risk of water and electricity coming in contact with each other. An assigned carpenter will install your chosen cabinets and other woodwork you would like to have.
They ensure space is used effectively and retain maximum space in smaller bathrooms. A trained professional is even assigned to install your new tiles by customizing and cutting them so they fit all corners. This results in getting a remodeled bathroom that runs along the lines of what you had in mind. You also prevent the safety risks that come with doing it yourself like electrocution while dealing with sockets or hurting yourself while using supplies.

Why Kitchen Remodeling NJ is Hot!

5 Reasons to Opt for Kitchen Remodeling in NJ

A lot of thinking goes into remodeling a kitchen. The kitchen is quite a unique room in your house. No matter how beautiful the rest of your house is, if your kitchen does not look functional and systematic, you will be killing the interior aesthetics of your house. This is why, you have to be really careful when you remodel your kitchen and spend every penny wisely. However, it can be hard for many homeowners to know when they need to renew the looks of their kitchen or if they ever need renovation at all. Here are some of the most valid reasons for you to start your kitchen remodeling NJ project.

5 Reasons to Get Your Kitchen Remodeled

1.    Your Kitchen Looks Outdated

One of the reasons you would want to look for a nearby kitchen showroom NJ is when your kitchen looks outdated. Maybe your house is more than a decade old and you haven’t had any renovations done in your kitchen since. Considering the new trends in kitchen designs, you might want to make yours look modern too. Be sure that you have saved enough to completely change the looks of your kitchen. Just doing a paint job on your kitchen cabinets and moving a few things here and there won’t be enough. When remodeling your kitchen, you have to think of the entire kitchen area from flooring to ceiling and cooktops to counters.

2.    Your Kitchen Is Always Dirty

Sometimes you are in a situation where you keep on cleaning your kitchen every other day. You are under the impression that your kitchen is dirty, but what you don’t realize is that your kitchen materials have expired and they have lost their vibrancy of colors due to how old they are. The dirty look of the kitchen also comes from many different components. For example, if you have an under-mounted sink or basin, its rims continue to collect filth with time and start looking really dirty over in the long run. Sometimes, it’s the backdrop behind your counter that has changed its color due to heat and smoke. Rather than going for quick fixes and making the whole thing look like a mess, it’s best that you call a kitchen remodeling NJ company to give a complete makeover to your kitchen.

3.    You Have Purchased New Appliances

Maybe when you purchased your house, all you had was a microwave and a toaster to keep in your kitchen? Today, you might have a food processor, espresso machine, a bar refrigerator, dishwasher, ice-cream machine, etc. To accommodate all these new items, you need your kitchen redesigned. You might need a complete makeover for your kitchen cabinets to accommodate that small bar refrigerator and to store smaller electrical items after use. In addition, you will also need more power outlets and switchboards located exactly where you want to put your appliances. In short, a remodeling of the kitchen is required.

4.    You Want to Add Value to Your Property

If you are thinking about selling your house in the near future, you are highly recommended to get your kitchen redone. Many homebuyers, especially women, are hugely impressed with how your kitchen looks. Make your kitchen trendier and you will easily win their hearts in addition to adding value to the price of your property. You might want to look at the new white theme and white kitchen cabinets for a trendy look. White kitchen cabinets combined with a white tiled backdrop and a wooden floor is really something you should consider.

5.    You Want Your Kitchen to Be More Functional

Sometimes, it is not just one, but many reasons you want a kitchen remodeling NJ project for. Maybe the present layout of your kitchen makes it hard for you to move from counter to counter or is unsafe for your children and pets. Maybe the cabinets that you put most commonly used items in are located far away from the cooking area causing you to move too much in the kitchen. At times, there are spaces left between your cabinets, under the counters and in the corners that can actually be used to build more cabinets or create enough space to fit in a small microwave. Sometimes, you just want to add an island table in the middle to have some family time while you are cooking.

If you are thinking about remodeling your kitchen for any of the above reasons, get in touch with a kitchen remodeling NJ company today and have things done professionally.

KITCHEN CABINETS NJ

Designing Kitchen Cabinets NJ – 2017

Kitchen Remodeling NJ – How Kitchen Cabinets Are Installed

One of the most enjoyable parts of doing a kitchen remodeling NJ is picking out the kitchen cabinets that fit your style. There are so many out there to choose from, with different styles, colors, and sizes. It can easily become overwhelming but it can be a lot of fun as well.

We’ve talked a little about the best way to go about making those choices and gave you some information that could be handy to know when considering what will work best for you. Today we want to touch upon the basics of how the kitchen cabinets nj that you’ve chosen will be installed.

PROCESS

Your kitchen has become a construction zone. You can’t cook, get to the fridge, and even making coffee in the mornings can be a hassle as long as the alterations are going on.  But, as with most installation processes there is a method to the madness.

Once the dismantling of the old kitchen is complete and everything is out of the way your kitchen should be ready for its new rebuild!

There are basically 4 easy steps for installing kitchen cabinets. We have experts that install these cabinets when you choose to let us help you with your kitchen remodeling NJ. We’re giving you the following steps to help you understand what we do and hopefully answer some of your questions about what is involved in the installation.

Step 1: Measure and Mark

First we measure to get the height of the base cabinets. The most popular standard cabinets are 34-1/2” high. Then we add 1-1/2” for a standard countertop and 18” for a standard backsplash, (though it is becoming popular with designers to ask for a 20” backsplash to accommodate small appliances). With the 18” backsplash, the total measurement should be 54” from the floor to the bottom of the upper cabinets. We’ll even make adjustments if your floor is not level. We than mark a horizontal line across the wall it the correct point to serve as a guide when we are ready to hang the kitchen cabinets NJ.

We use a stud finder for locating the wall studs, because the wall studs are essential in providing the proper support for the weight of the cabinets. It goes without say that we pay careful attention to the position of all electrical wiring and plumbing during the entire installation process.

Step 2: Installing the Ledger Board

We fasten a support board to the wall, screwing it into the marked studs so that it can temporarily support the cabinets during the installation procedure. This is for the safety of the working crew as well as for the welfare of your kitchen cabinets NJ.

Step 3: Hanging the Upper Cabinets

By attaching many cabinets together we can safely lift and install a couple at a time onto the ledger board. Next, we secure the two cabinets together at the stile. By affixing one screw on the top and bottom in the front and back where the two cabinets meet we can insure they are attached correctly and securely.

We then move attach the cabinets. We will occasionally have to shim the cabinets for accurate placement before securing the cabinets into the wall at the studs. If a gap exists between the wall and the last cabinet, we will use a filler bar to enclose the gap. This piece, if needed, is typically securing the last cabinet before it is installed. We will then attach the doors and hardware after all the kitchen cabinets NJ is installed.

Step 4: Installing the Base Cabinets

Base cabinets are measured and level lines are marked on the wall from the high point in the floor to the cabinet height. Again, we use stud finders to locate and mark the studs along this line around the walls that the kitchen cabinets NJ are to be placed.

We dry fit your first cabinet into place and make sure that it is level across the top, shimming if needed. We then attach all base cabinets and attach the doors and hardware.

Bathroom Vanities NJ – How Bathroom Vanities Are Installed

We talked earlier about how to install kitchen cabinets, now it’s time to go over the process of installing your bathroom vanities NJ. We know this sounds like a lot of steps and you’re wondering how is it more complicated to install one little vanity then it is to install all those kitchen cabinets? Well, the answer is that it’s not. We just broke it down into a parts so that you will have a full understanding of what is entailed in installing a bathroom vanities NJ.

These steps are for the general purpose of installation but please consider that they may not be exactly how every vanity is installed because some custom vanities may require different steps to install than a typical bathroom vanity may. And, there could also be differences in a bathrooms floor plans and plumbing that can require adjustments to the installation.

Step 1: Shutting Off the Water

First, we have to make sure that the water is turned off and the supply lines are completely disconnected. This is done to ensure that now water damage is created during installation and of course to keep everyone dry. A bucket can be utilized to catch any dripping water from the supply lines and the p-trap. No one wants to replace ruined walls or flooring! The main water shutoff is usually located under or outside the home.

Step 2: Removing the Countertop

If the old vanity is still in place we will loosen the caulk that is between the vanity and the wall by using a utility knife. We may need to go all the way down the sides of the vanity to the floor if necessary to remove all the old caulking. We will then remove the countertop very carefully because we don’t want to create any wall damage with its removal. Having several sets of hands comes in handy when we are installing large countertops and bathroom vanities NJ. This simply makes the job so much easier.

Step 3: Out With the Old Vanity

First we will loosen and remove all the screws that were used to attach the old vanity to the wall. Then we will carefully pry and remove the old vanity from its place, being careful not to damage the walls behind the vanity and the floor beneath it.

Step 4: Positioning the New Vanity

We will locate the wall studs first and mark them, making sure we mark them higher than where the top of the new vanity will set. Then we mark the placement of the screw holes to match the new bathroom vanities NJ. We can now set the new vanity in its place. Because it’s very critical for the vanity to be flush against the wall we may have to utilize shims and a carpenter’s level to make sure that it is in place correctly.

Step 5: Installing the New Faucet

We can now install your new faucet. It will make the job go faster by doing this while the vanity top is still detached from the bathroom vanities NJ. It’s just simply easier to do it this way.

Step 6: Attaching the Vanity to the Wall

Once we are sure that the bathroom vanities NJ is properly in position we will then secure it to the wall with the correct screws.

Step 7: Securing the Vanity Top

We will apply the tub-and-tile caulk along the top edges of the vanity base to insure a proper seal. Then we vigilantly secure the counter to the top of the bathroom vanities NJ.

Step 8: Reconnecting the Plumbing

Now that the hard parts are done we will reconnect the plumbing by using plumber’s tape.

Step 9: Finishing the Job

We will finish the job by running a thin bead of smooth caulk around the edges of the countertop. And of course, we always clean up after ourselves.

Kitchen Remodeling NJ [2017] Continued……

Depending upon whether you live alone, it’s just the two of you, or you have a house full of children you need to figure in how much room you’ll need for storage of pots and pans, dishes, food, and all the other things that you keep in your kitchen.

There are basically three types of cabinets: wall, base and tall (floor to ceiling). These three types can be used to make variations of cabinets to achieve what you need. They can be arranged to get the maximum amount of storage and space for your layout.

You can stack wall cabinets to form utility or pantries. You can combine base cabinets to form an island, or by combining wall and base cabinets you can build an oven cabinet or spaces for appliances such as dishwashers. The options are practically limitless.

Let’s go into a little better detail about the types of kitchen cabinets you have to choose from.

Base Kitchen Cabinets:

Base cabinets are mounted on the floor and they are made to support the countertops. They can be combined to make kitchen islands, or just run the length of the kitchen area. They are built sturdy and able to hold up to the weight and constant use.

Most base cabinets have a mix of pull-out drawers and hinged doors that can be used for multiple storage functions. Spaces can be left for dishwashers and sink fittings. These cabinets typically come in an array of colors and materials.

Wall Kitchen Cabinets:

Wall cabinets are the ones that hang from the wall. They are usually the first ones to catch your eye when you walk into a kitchen. They generally come in three different heights, although custom made cabinets can be built to suit a specific need or space.

The depth and widths can also be specialized to accommodate stowing needs. They can extend to the ceiling or leave room for top storage or lighting. Even accent walls can be made by joining several wall cabinets together.

Tall (Pantry) Kitchen Cabinets:

These types of cabinets are usually made to reach from floor to ceiling. They are great for adding a lot of storage to smaller spaces or simply creating an accent wall. Anything from food the cookware can be stored out of the way. Tall cabinets can also come in a vast array of designs, colors and material, and can be made to match the rest of the kitchen cabinets or made to offset them, depending upon your style and taste.

Now that you have a better idea of what you have to work with you can begin to evolve an idea of what you want and need for your kitchen remodeling NJ. Choosing the layout of your new kitchen cabinet should be a pleasurable and entertaining experience. By the time it’s all said and done you should feel like your new kitchen fits perfectly into your home and lifestyle.
