Kitchen Cabinet Installation NJ – 2018

Why you should opt for Professional Cabinet Installation

If you are planning to upgrade your living space, no better place to begin than your kitchen. Cabinets are a large part of the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the kitchen and if you are planning to renovate for selling your house, then a professional cabinet installation may take your house rates a notch higher.
Does this mean that you have to go overboard with the price range of the kitchen cabinets? No. While remodeling a kitchen or planning to do so you may feel that a professional interference can cost you a chunk from your savings but a DIY installation may have more negative consequences.

For an adult, homeownership is one of the greatest accomplishments in life, but there may come a time where you will need some kitchen and bathroom remodeling done. The decision to get professional services or DIY remodel can be overwhelming and you might end up biting more than you can chew. In light of this, here are some valid points that you need to consider before trying to become a handyman yourself. Even if you follow tutorials to the T, there is a high likelihood that this will not be the most cost-effective and sensible decision.

1. The cabinet installation costs

The myth that doing something yourself will cost you less because you will be purchasing the materials yourself and you do not have to pay the worker. But reality differs from this notion because a professional will provide you with a round figure that covers everything including accidents. They also get special supplier discounts and the handyman charges are also included in their estimates. They are less likely to cause accidents, which you will if you are not a professional; these accidents can actually increase the costs. Moreover, the extra trips to the hardware store can certainly add up.

2. The professional workmanship

The time and skill required to complete kitchen cabinet installations may not be that favorable for you as a layman. You may not be satisfied with the end result of a DIY job as you would be with the professional workmanship of a home renovation service. Moreover, they use less time and resources to complete installations as compared to someone who has zero to no experience. A poorly installed set of kitchen cabinets can actually result in you spending more time correcting the flaws in installation than the actual installation.

3. Insurance, license, and legalities

Before you start a remodeling project you may need to get a permit if your district or jurisdiction requires so. Also, you may need to get some insurance for the potential damage that can occur as a requisite of the renovation. This can be costly and time consuming for you to get on your own. A professional renovator will be licensed and insured. They are obligated to protect your home from any damage that can result in its devaluation. They are aware of all the legal requirements that are needed to start a project. Most states do not need you to get a permit for kitchen cabinet renovations but in some states, a permit is required for the smallest of renovations.

4. After installation services

Professional companies take responsibility for their work and they will provide you with any other service that you may need after the work is done. You can dial them up if there is any flaw in your kitchen cabinet installations. Moreover, they may also provide you maintenance and polishing services for your kitchen.

5. The cleaning process

If you have seen someone getting their kitchen remodeled and getting some new kitchen cabinets installed you know what a mess this can make. If you have the time on your hands to make errors and spend a few nights clearing up the mess then this may be your cup of tea. If not, professionals will remove all the unnecessary clutter from the space and clean out the floors if needed. They will also spread some material on the floor to make the clean-out easier and protect the floors.
Recommendation

Overall, hiring professional services is cost-efficient, less time consuming and risk savvy for anyone who wants a set of new cabinets to compliment their kitchens aesthetic.

Kitchen Remodeling NJ To Impress – 2018

NJ Kitchen Designs That Will Impress Your Guests

The new year brings opportunities to improve yourself and your surroundings but it shouldn’t require you to keep up with constantly changing trends. That is why it really pays off to renovate your kitchen using designs that will stay for a long time. This reduces the need for remodeling again once a design becomes outdated. Kitchen remodeling, NJ is a big decision since there are things to consider such as space and need for maintenance.

When it comes to kitchen remodeling NJ, homeowners look for a solution that is cost-effective yet elegant enough to impress their visitors. Although cost-effective and elegant aren’t the aspects you’d expect to go hand in hand, there are some designs that prove otherwise.

Floors and Ceiling

Having a small kitchen doesn’t leave room for elegance, but you sure can improvise with the ceiling. When planning for kitchen remodeling Nj, a ceiling treatment such as shallow coffers help bring the space together. Otherwise, you can settle for moldings that will complement the kitchen below while making a statement overhead.

Wooden floors are good at keeping the environment homely and warm so they won’t need to be replaced anytime soon. Its ability to blend in with any style makes it an excellent option in terms of flooring for kitchen remodeling Nj. However, if the task of maintaining them seems like a hassle then you’ll be happy to hear that porcelain planks with a wood grain finish will provide the same look without the need for much upkeep.

Quartz Countertops

Say goodbye to your granite countertops because quartz is taking over the counter department and it’s the replacement we’ve all been waiting for. Yes, you believed that granite would last forever, but if you’ve missed out on sealing and re-sealing treatments then there’s some bad news for you. Being porous, they’re highly susceptible to absorbing moisture if not sealed properly and a single spill can shorten the life of your precious countertop.

This makes the change valuable for kitchen remodeling NJ because of the humid climate. If you think you’re compromising on style with quartz, then recent designs will prove you wrong. With so many color options and designs, it’ll almost be like having your granite countertop back-except it doesn’t require so much maintenance.

Fittings

Increase the value of your home with new technology that will increase resource efficiency and help in reducing costs. Automatic and smart faucets are the fittings of the future and there’s no reason to not install them. Surely it’s a little costly in terms of installation, but let’s not forget the benefits you’ll reap until much later on. Leave behind that modern looking sink and opt for a deeper sink which uses functionality as an aesthetic. Move on to LED lighting to incorporate their creative designs into your kitchen remodeling Nj and enhance its look. Pendant lamps are all the rage now but opt for a statement lamp which is a bit subtle so it can meet your expectations without becoming outdated.

Kitchen Appliances

Designers are hard at work to come up with new ways to hide your bulky ovens and wine fridges in places where they don’t stand out. Innovative paneling, built-in microwaves and other appliances and a cabinet that’s secretly a chiller for your drinks are all ideas for kitchen remodeling Nj.

Upgrading to induction cooking is the best way to achieve that sleek, refined look for your kitchen. Not only this, but it’s much safer in preventing gas-leakage and produces less heat so your kitchen stays cool. This is especially useful for smaller spaces that opt for kitchen remodeling NJ. Invest in vegetable chopping tools, all-in-one juicers, and multi-purpose bakeware so you can begin a minimalist lifestyle, right from your kitchen!

Kitchen Cabinetry NJ

If you chose two-toned cabinets last year for kitchen remodeling Nj, then you’re lucky because they’re still in style. Try to show off your kitchen walls with a backsplash and don’t worry about your cabinet space because you can move them and your appliances by using the space under the island counter. Be smart with your space by installing a garage for your appliances which will keep them out-of-sight but reachable when you need them.

White and Gray, Here To Stay

The popularity of white kitchens continues to soar and a large population of homeowners agrees on white as their preferred color for a kitchen. Increase Storage And Accessibility

When remodeling your kitchen, there’s not a lot of options when it comes to the color palette. So in times of confusion, it’s best to stick to the basics, you can never go wrong with those. The popularity of white kitchens continues to soar and a large population of homeowners agrees on white as their preferred color for a kitchen. However, gray is the shift towards a more ‘colorful’ palette if you want to add some color to your kitchen, but not too much. Kitchen Remodeling at its finest in the years to come!

Increase Storage And Accessibility

It’s not only the colors you want to change when you’re remodeling a kitchen since it’s important to have a change in hardware. Sure, your grandmother’s kitchen is nice, but it has enough storage space to keep a toaster. With new appliances coming out every day, we need to make more space in the same kitchen. Manufacturers are reducing the space issue with new styles of drawers with smart tier designs and cabinets with foldable doors. Making appliances accessible is the new trend leaning towards practicality. Gone are the days when the microwave was placed above the range with new designs to keep your microwave at counter height.

New Hues for Old Sinks

The journey of adding color diversity to your all-white kitchen has to start somewhere. If you want to go further than painting your cabinets gray, then look no further than your sink. Getting a colored sink will add a stain of color and make it the prime focus of your white kitchen. The apron-front sink may be old, but it’s still practical. Not stylish enough for you? Get a splash of color as I mentioned before. Its addition is sure to give your kitchen a timeless aesthetic.

Quartz in The Mix

Quartz has surpassed granite by becoming the showstopper when it comes to countertops. The material is strong, long-lasting and requires close to no maintenance when compared to granite. Technological advancements now allow for different variations in colors when it comes to installing quartz countertops. On the other hand, you can take a more forward approach by customizing a mixed medium countertop using wood as well. The mix medium method allows different mediums on different sides of the countertops.

LED Lighting

LED lighting is taking the world by storm because of its efficiency and low energy consumption. They’re being used to illuminate all the right spots. Opt for LED rope lights to install them where you need the highlighting effect. Drawers and cabinet spaces are the perfect places to start. While you’re at it, changing your light fixtures would be a good idea. Adding bold statement fixtures induce a dramatic effect in your neutral-toned kitchen. Hanging the statement piece for your kitchen from the ceiling is a practical idea when you have minimal space.

Go Smart

A futuristic kitchen with automated features is here and no more a fantasy out of a sci-fi movie. Automated alternatives to your conventional faucets and lights will add a smart change to your lifestyle. Lights that are sensor-activated help reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Curb your water consumption by installing a hands-free faucet to wash your sticky hands without turning the handle first.

Allocated Refrigeration

If you’re aiming to become the next Masterchef, wasting time going to that bulky fridge won’t get you anywhere. Improve your odds by installing refrigeration where you need it and not reducing it to the one-door unit in the corner. Have your fridge at counter height to keep your produce in with coolers for beverages right next to it.

Why Kitchen Remodeling NJ is Hot!

5 Reasons to Opt for Kitchen Remodeling in NJ

A lot of thinking goes into remodeling a kitchen. The kitchen is quite a unique room in your house. No matter how beautiful the rest of your house is, if your kitchen does not look functional and systematic, you will be killing the interior aesthetics of your house. This is why, you have to be really careful when you remodel your kitchen and spend every penny wisely. However, it can be hard for many homeowners to know when they need to renew the looks of their kitchen or if they ever need renovation at all. Here are some of the most valid reasons for you to start your kitchen remodeling NJ project.

5 Reasons to Get Your Kitchen Remodeled

1.    Your Kitchen Looks Outdated

One of the reasons you would want to look for a nearby kitchen showroom NJ is when your kitchen looks outdated. Maybe your house is more than a decade old and you haven’t had any renovations done in your kitchen since. Considering the new trends in kitchen designs, you might want to make yours look modern too. Be sure that you have saved enough to completely change the looks of your kitchen. Just doing a paint job on your kitchen cabinets and moving a few things here and there won’t be enough. When remodeling your kitchen, you have to think of the entire kitchen area from flooring to ceiling and cooktops to counters.

2.    Your Kitchen Is Always Dirty

Sometimes you are in a situation where you keep on cleaning your kitchen every other day. You are under the impression that your kitchen is dirty, but what you don’t realize is that your kitchen materials have expired and they have lost their vibrancy of colors due to how old they are. The dirty look of the kitchen also comes from many different components. For example, if you have an under-mounted sink or basin, its rims continue to collect filth with time and start looking really dirty over in the long run. Sometimes, it’s the backdrop behind your counter that has changed its color due to heat and smoke. Rather than going for quick fixes and making the whole thing look like a mess, it’s best that you call a kitchen remodeling NJ company to give a complete makeover to your kitchen.

3.    You Have Purchased New Appliances

Maybe when you purchased your house, all you had was a microwave and a toaster to keep in your kitchen? Today, you might have a food processor, espresso machine, a bar refrigerator, dishwasher, ice-cream machine, etc. To accommodate all these new items, you need your kitchen redesigned. You might need a complete makeover for your kitchen cabinets to accommodate that small bar refrigerator and to store smaller electrical items after use. In addition, you will also need more power outlets and switchboards located exactly where you want to put your appliances. In short, a remodeling of the kitchen is required.

4.    You Want to Add Value to Your Property

If you are thinking about selling your house in the near future, you are highly recommended to get your kitchen redone. Many homebuyers, especially women, are hugely impressed with how your kitchen looks. Make your kitchen trendier and you will easily win their hearts in addition to adding value to the price of your property. You might want to look at the new white theme and white kitchen cabinets for a trendy look. White kitchen cabinets combined with a white tiled backdrop and a wooden floor is really something you should consider.

5.    You Want Your Kitchen to Be More Functional

Sometimes, it is not just one, but many reasons you want a kitchen remodeling NJ project for. Maybe the present layout of your kitchen makes it hard for you to move from counter to counter or is unsafe for your children and pets. Maybe the cabinets that you put most commonly used items in are located far away from the cooking area causing you to move too much in the kitchen. At times, there are spaces left between your cabinets, under the counters and in the corners that can actually be used to build more cabinets or create enough space to fit in a small microwave. Sometimes, you just want to add an island table in the middle to have some family time while you are cooking.

If you are thinking about remodeling your kitchen for any of the above reasons, get in touch with a kitchen remodeling NJ company today and have things done professionally.

PROCESS

Your kitchen has become a construction zone. You can’t cook, get to the fridge, and even making coffee in the mornings can be a hassle as long as the alterations are going on.  But, as with most installation processes there is a method to the madness.

Once the dismantling of the old kitchen is complete and everything is out of the way your kitchen should be ready for its new rebuild!

There are basically 4 easy steps for installing kitchen cabinets. We have experts that install these cabinets when you choose to let us help you with your kitchen remodeling NJ. We’re giving you the following steps to help you understand what we do and hopefully answer some of your questions about what is involved in the installation.

Step 1: Measure and Mark

First we measure to get the height of the base cabinets. The most popular standard cabinets are 34-1/2” high. Then we add 1-1/2” for a standard countertop and 18” for a standard backsplash, (though it is becoming popular with designers to ask for a 20” backsplash to accommodate small appliances). With the 18” backsplash, the total measurement should be 54” from the floor to the bottom of the upper cabinets. We’ll even make adjustments if your floor is not level. We than mark a horizontal line across the wall it the correct point to serve as a guide when we are ready to hang the kitchen cabinets NJ.

We use a stud finder for locating the wall studs, because the wall studs are essential in providing the proper support for the weight of the cabinets. It goes without say that we pay careful attention to the position of all electrical wiring and plumbing during the entire installation process.

Step 2: Installing the Ledger Board

We fasten a support board to the wall, screwing it into the marked studs so that it can temporarily support the cabinets during the installation procedure. This is for the safety of the working crew as well as for the welfare of your kitchen cabinets NJ.

Step 3: Hanging the Upper Cabinets

By attaching many cabinets together we can safely lift and install a couple at a time onto the ledger board. Next, we secure the two cabinets together at the stile. By affixing one screw on the top and bottom in the front and back where the two cabinets meet we can insure they are attached correctly and securely.

We then move attach the cabinets. We will occasionally have to shim the cabinets for accurate placement before securing the cabinets into the wall at the studs. If a gap exists between the wall and the last cabinet, we will use a filler bar to enclose the gap. This piece, if needed, is typically securing the last cabinet before it is installed. We will then attach the doors and hardware after all the kitchen cabinets NJ is installed.

Step 4: Installing the Base Cabinets

Base cabinets are measured and level lines are marked on the wall from the high point in the floor to the cabinet height. Again, we use stud finders to locate and mark the studs along this line around the walls that the kitchen cabinets NJ are to be placed.

We dry fit your first cabinet into place and make sure that it is level across the top, shimming if needed. We then attach all base cabinets and attach the doors and hardware.

Base Kitchen Cabinets:

Base cabinets are mounted on the floor and they are made to support the countertops. They can be combined to make kitchen islands, or just run the length of the kitchen area. They are built sturdy and able to hold up to the weight and constant use.

Most base cabinets have a mix of pull-out drawers and hinged doors that can be used for multiple storage functions. Spaces can be left for dishwashers and sink fittings. These cabinets typically come in an array of colors and materials.

Wall Kitchen Cabinets:

Wall cabinets are the ones that hang from the wall. They are usually the first ones to catch your eye when you walk into a kitchen. They generally come in three different heights, although custom made cabinets can be built to suit a specific need or space.

The depth and widths can also be specialized to accommodate stowing needs. They can extend to the ceiling or leave room for top storage or lighting. Even accent walls can be made by joining several wall cabinets together.

Tall (Pantry) Kitchen Cabinets:

These types of cabinets are usually made to reach from floor to ceiling. They are great for adding a lot of storage to smaller spaces or simply creating an accent wall. Anything from food the cookware can be stored out of the way. Tall cabinets can also come in a vast array of designs, colors and material, and can be made to match the rest of the kitchen cabinets or made to offset them, depending upon your style and taste.

Kitchen Remodeling NJ – Choosing Kitchen Cabinets

Now that you’re finally going to start that kitchen remodeling NJ that you’ve been wanting to do it’s time to consider what kitchen cabinets NJ you’re going to go with. You have a lot of choices. But, do you know what you want?

If you’re not sure exactly what you need or want let us give you some helpful tips about kitchen cabinets that may give you a better idea of what you need to purchase.

First we’ll go over the differences between Stock, Semi-Custom and Custom so you can understand them.

Believe it or not some of the most misinterpreted terms are stock, semi-custom and custom. These terms are related to how the kitchen cabinets are made. Here are the basic explanations:

TYPE OF STYLE

Stock – These kitchen cabinets are pre-manufactured to precise sizes with very few if any options for changes other than perhaps some limited choices that the manufacturer might offer. They are pretty much an off-the-shelf product that comes in a limited range of styles or designs.

Semi-Custom – These kitchen cabinets are kind of like stock cabinets in that they’re also pre-manufactured but they will come with a broader range of options and offer more sizes than normal stock cabinets do. With semi-custom you do have some choices to pick and choose from. You can have some details on the stock cabinet changed to suit you. With semi-custom you have some limited customization options.

Custom – These kitchen cabinets are explicitly built to the customer’s request. They have no limitation on sizes, style choices, colors, materials, wood grades or finishes. They are completely tailor-made.

Open Shelves – The kitchen cabinets are basically simple shelves that are braced on the wall without a surrounding cabinet base. They are great when you are looking to save money or space or both. They offer a simplistic style and work perfectly in smaller kitchens.

You can have custom-made kitchen cabinets that are as plain or as fancy as you want them to be. The great thing about these cabinets is that they are made to fit your design needs to a tee.

DURABILITY

Construction of your kitchen cabinets:

The quality of your kitchen cabinets depends a lot on how they are constructed. This basically means how they are put together and what materials are chosen to make them with. Yes, it’s that simple.

Materials – these include particle board, MDF (medium density fiberboard), plywood, solid wood, metal and laminate/melamine. These are not all the materials that kitchen cabinets are made with but they are the main ones.

Construction and Design – kitchen cabinets are constructed either as framed or frameless. Framed cabinets use a wood frame to outline the face of the cabinets mean box. Frameless cabinets don’t employ this facet. The structural braces are typically made from plastic, wood or metal. The approaches of joinery can include hot-glue, staples and nails, or certain woodworking techniques like dovetails that are very intricate.

Hardware – The quality of drawer slides have a wide range. Some products used are ball bearings and nylon wheels/rollers. You will need to make sure that its physical location on the drawer, whether side mounted or on the bottom, can affect the drawer space. The brackets for shelf mounting can be made with either plastic or metal.

What style of kitchen cabinets doors do you want?

Here is the fun part of choosing your kitchen cabinets! Some of the most popular are slab, flat panel, shaker, raised panel, or beaded. Here are the basic differences.

Arched cathedral: This is when the door panel is shaped like an arched window. The arch can be recessed or raised.

Beaded: The inside panel has stripes created by grooves.

Flat panel: The door is a simple single flat panel that is surrounded by molding.

Glass inset: These doors are basically windows into the cabinet.

Mission: This cabinet is a flat panel door. They have a modest square frame molding.

Raised panel: These center panels are somewhat raised by a contoured groove made around the molding.

Shaker: Similar to mission cabinets, but they have a slimmer frame molding.

Slab: These feature no panels, molding, or ornamentation. They can have drawer pulls, but hardware is usually eliminated.
